Professor Trevor A. Hassell, GCM, MBBS, FRCP, FACC
Professor Trevor Hassell
,
the founder president of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados, is currently a member of the Board of Directors and on May 19th 2006 he became HSFB's Vice President, Cardiac Services. He is Vice President of the World Heart Federation and past president of the Inter-American Heart Foundation (2004-2006).
Professor Hassell is Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the School of Clinical Medicine and Research, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and Chairman of the National Chronic Non Communicable Diseases Commission. He was Director of Medical Services at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados (2004-2007) and consultant physician and cardiologist at the QEH (1974-2007).
Professor Hassell has been very involved in the development of national programmes for the provision of comprehensive cardiovascular care, as well as the development of community based primary prevention cardiovascular, healthy lifestyle and wellness programmes.
