Eat sensibly and exercise regularly (see below for details on nutrition).
Visit your doctor regularly, especially if there is a family history of stroke, hypertension, diabetes or high cholesterol in the blood.
Stop smoking.
Always take anti-hypertensive medication as prescribed even if you are not feeling ill.
Take time each day to relax and meditate. You cannot, by worrying, change any circumstance in your life.
