Business Leaders meet new CEO
The Heart Foundation of Barbados recently took the
opportunity to introduce their new CEO, Adrian Randall to the business community
and to the press. The occasion was at a Breakfast Meeting, which was held at the
Grand Barbados Beach Resort.
The good representation of business leaders was welcomed by
president of the HFOB, Dru Symmonds SCM, J.P., while Rosalind Jackson, of Ernst & Young,
who headed the CEO selection process, formally introduced Mr. Randall. Mrs.
Jackson is also a director of the Board of the HFOB. She explained the
requirements of the position and was happy that Mr. Randall fitted the bill
perfectly. She said that he was ideally suited to take the organization to the
next level.
“Adrian’s experience and his technical skills make him a
sound choice” she said, “but his character and his zeal for the cause make him
outstanding. We need to fasten our seat belts because of expected turbulence as
we break into higher heights.”
Mr. Randall told the audience of plans for the future
direction of the HFOB. He said that in keeping with the goal of providing best
quality advice, training and management of cardiovascular prevention and care
the HFOB will assess ways in which the CDP&R programme can be extended to reach
even more individuals.
He also indicated that the Foundation would be reintroducing
in 2005 the Business and Professional Seminar which was last held in 2003.
Among the exciting initiatives to be undertaken by the HFOB,
noted Mr. Randall, will be a national television media campaign, in partnership
with AT&T, aimed at providing information and know how on heart disease
prevention. The New Year will also see the launching of the HFOB updated
website, he said.
Mr. Randall thanked the many members of corporate Barbados
who had given generous support to the Heart Foundation, and he looked forward to
working with them in the future.
