Dr. Stephen Moe - President

Dr. Stephen Moe was elected President of the Heart & Stroke
Foundation of Barbados in April 2008. He is the third person to hold the
position since the body was formed, as the Heart Foundation of Barbados, in
1985.
Dr. Moe is currently Consultant Cardiologist at the Queen
Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Barbados and at the Bayview Hospital. He is also in
private practice in Cardiology and Internal Medicine at Woodside Memorial
Clinic, Bay Street. Earlier in his career Dr. Moe was a House Officer at the
Princess Margaret Hospital in the Bahamas.
A long-standing member of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of
Barbados, Dr. Moe is also a member of the American Heart Association, as well as
the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners. He is a Fellow of the
American College of Cardiology, and a member of both the American College of
Physicians and the Caribbean Cardiac Society.
A graduate of Harrison College, Barbados, Dr. Moe obtained
the Bachelor of Science as well as the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of
Surgery degrees from the University of the West Indies. He further holds a
Diploma in Internal Medicine and a Diploma in Cardiovascular Diseases both from
the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Moe did postgraduate residency in Internal Medicine at
Howard University Hospital and Affiliated Hospitals in Washington DC, followed
by a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Affiliated
Virginia Hospitals, Virginia, USA. He is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac
Life Support.
Dr. Moe is currently an Associate Lecturer at the School of
Clinical Medicine at the University of the West Indies. He is married and has 2
children.
