on Coronary Artery Disease From Prevention to Intervention - ICCAD 2009
will be held on October 11-14, 2009, Prague, Czech Republic, ICCAD 2009
meeting will follow the format of the very successful previous ICCAD
Coronary Artery Disease meetings and will provide a comprehensive update on
coronary disease in all its aspects.

5th July 2008 - The Heart & Stroke
Foundation of Barbados has taken another step in its efforts to fight the
scourge of smoking in Barbados with the appointment of a Project
Officer, Tobacco Control. He is Wayne Hunte, who brings to the post a wealth
of experience in the field of project management and communication, and
extensive knowledge of working with the NGO sector and the media.

30th May 2008 - WHO wants a ban on all
tobacco advertising to protect youth 30th May, Geneva. - The World
Health Organization (WHO) today urged governments to protect the world’s 1.8
billion young people by imposing a ban on all tobacco advertising, promotion
and sponsorship.

19th May 2008 - FACT SHEET #2 - The Bloomberg
Global Initiative To Reduce Tobacco Use -The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados (HSFB), the Heart
Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ) (for The Jamaica Coalition for Tobacco Control), the
Trinidad & Tobago Cancer Society and the Guyana Chest Society have received a
grant from the Bloomberg Global Initiative to ensure the implementation of
rotating picture-based package warnings on all tobacco products sold in
Caribbean countries. This grant will be administered through the Campaign for
Tobacco Free Kids.

16th February 2008 - Dr. Stephen Moe, Chairman
of the Foundation's Medical Committee, will be the speaker at the first
Barbados Drug Service's lecture of 2008. This takes place at Sherbourne
Conference Centre on Tuesday February 26 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Dr.
Moe's lecture is entitled "Prevention of Heart Diseases"
15th February 2008 - Nations Conclude
Initial Talks on Smuggling, Counterfeiting and Illicit Manufacturing of
Tobacco Products as Global Tobacco Epidemic Worsens. Geneva, Switzerland.
Official representatives of some 130 countries wrapped up talks in Geneva
today on a new treaty, the Illicit Trade Protocol, to curb the smuggling,
counterfeiting, and illicit manufacturing of tobacco products.
